Day 1. Hustai National Park - Nomad home stay 

In the morning, our tour guide & driver will pick you up from your hotel and start our tour driving to Hustai National Park, which is the site of re-introduction scheme of Przewalski’s horse, by Mongolian’s called Tahki. It became extinct in the wild in the 1960’s, and since 1992 has been successfully re - introduced to Hustai and other parts of Mongolia, from zoos around the world. Arrive at the Hustai National Park, visit Takhi's small museum and continue our way to Nomad family, which they live just outside of National Park. Arrive at nomad family, meet the family members, and you will be welcomed lunch and tea. Then rest of the day you will spend to learn and to experience nomad people’s daily lifestyle and duties, including milking cows and sheeps, bringing the herds from pasture, producing dairy products, helping & cooking Mongolian respected dish Khorkhog with help of hostess etc. In the evening, drive back to National park to see Wild Horses – Takhi while they come down from mountain to drink water. Day 2. Karakorum - Erdene Zuu Monastery via Elsen Tasarkhai (mini Gobi) - Camel trek 

After breakfast, we will drive towards to Karakorum ruins, ancient capital of 13 th century Great Mongol Empire, nowadays small town called Kharkhorin. On the way we will visit to picturesque Elsen Tasarkhai sand dunes, located at the Khogno Khan Nature Reserve, represents mini Gobi at the Khangai mountain range. Camel riding through the Golden sand dunes is fun and we will do that with support of camel man. After lunch, drive to Karakorum, which was capital of Mongolian Empire and an essential station of the Silk Road; and thus has much more to share than its current physical appearance. Mongolian largest and the historically most significant religious and cultural center – Erdenezuu monastery – is operating as a museum there. Different stone relics and other ancient artifacts are standing around the city to reveal the history and stories dated back to hundreds of years ago.  Overnight in Ger camp. B L D

Day 3.Tuvkhun Monastery - Orkhon Waterfall - Horse ride

Today we will drive to Orkhon Waterfall, but our first destination will be Tuvkhun Monastery, which is located in beautiful Shireet Ulaan Mountain at Khangai Mountains. The monastery was built in 1654 by High Saint Zanabazar who was a great sculptor and one of the biggest representatives of Buddhism in Mongolia. During Zanabazar's lifetime retreat was called Bayasgalant Aglag Oron (Happy Secluded Place) and after his death it became Tuvkhun Monastery, the name which it is known today. Hike through the black forests and explore the monastery, and after picnic lunch we will head to Orkhon Waterfall. Over 25 m high Orkhon Waterfall is the biggest waterfall in Mongolia and one of the most attractive destinations in Orkhon river valley, UNISCO World heritage site. The surrounding areas of the waterfall were formed by volcanic activities dated back approximately 20,000 years (possibly Quaternary period). Flows of Orkhon River created a 130 km long canyon through the lava plateau. The area is ideal for fishing, horse riding, cycling and photography. Scenic and untouched natural distinct spot allow good opportunities for hiking and horseback riding and we will do that. We will do some horse riding through the breathtakingly beautiful areas and our horse riding activity suitable from beginners to advanced riders. Overnight in Ger camp. B L D

Day 4. Tsenkher Hot Spring 

After breakfast, drive to Tsenkher hot spring, located in Arkhangai province. The Arkhangai province have many old volcanos, which explain the presence of this hot water source that flows all year long at 1860 meters (1, 16 mile) above the sea level in the sub province of Tsenkher. The water is at 85,5°C (185,9°F). In a pleasant verdant wooded area, some Ger camps with equipment and baths with a less hot temperature have been set up for the travelers. Tsenkher hot springs have healing properties notably on articular diseases and nervous system’s diseases.  In the evening have spa bath and relax at Ger camp. Overnight in Ger camp. B L D

Day 5. Khorgo - Terkh National Park 

Drive to Khorgo- Terkh National Park. On the way we will pass the Tsertserleg town, which is provincial center of Arkhangai province. Just before we reach the Khorgo-Terkh National Park we will see Chuluut river great canyon which huge creation of volcanic earthquake. After arriving at Khorgo –Terkh National Park, climb up to the top of extinct volcano Khorgo, the top view is amazing. The Khorgo crater, situated at an altitude of 2.210 meters with a diameter of 20 meters and depth of 70 to 80 meters, approximately 8000 years ago volcanic lava flooded the valleys nearby which are covered today with small forests of Siberian larch and a great variety of berries and flowers. Arrive at the camp, and after some relaxation free hiking around or swimming in the beautiful lake Terkh White. Overnight in Ger camp. B L D

Day 6. Ogii Lake

Today we will drive to Ogii Lake, which covers 27 areas, average depth is 6.64m and has length of 23.5m. The lake is abundant in various types of fish and birds, which create an incredible natural beauty. Ogii Lake is known as the one of the best lakes for fishing and delicate sand, whetstone coast and the soft waves makes very pleasant for boat adventure. Arrive at the camp and after lunch we will spend rest of the day boating (optional) and fishing at the lake. Overnight in Ger camp. B L D

Day 7. Back to Ulaanbaatar 

In the morning after breakfast, drive to Ulaanbaatar by paved road for 360 km. Lunch will be on the road at local cuisine.  Arrival and transfer to your hotel. Free time. End of the tour. B L

Accommodation –  During your countryside stay we provide standard tourist Ger camp accommodations, carefully chosen by their location, service standard, as well as feedbacks from our customers. Most of the tourist camps supply the Mongolian traditional dwelling Ger as guest’s accommodation. Normally, two or three beds are in one Ger. If client want to stay alone in a Ger there will be additional charge. The camp provides restaurant / bar, western style toilet, washing facilities and showers (separate blocks, not in the Ger) and laundry services. Accommodations in Ulaanbaatar does not include, but if you wish, we can book your hotel in Ulaanbaatar in our contracted prices from choices of 2-5 stars

Meal –  When you stay in Ger camps, the camp provides meals of mostly western cuisine and also Mongolian traditional cuisine. Somedays will be picnic lunch or on the way we will pass local restaurants or cuisine.  Most of the Mongolian traditional meal is based on meat, choices of beef, mutton, goat, chicken and, even sometimes yak. So, please let us know if you have special request. It is also available to have and taste traditional dairy products when you visit to nomad families. Bottled mineral waters included in all our trips.

Transportation - In the countryside we use 4 WD vehicles, Japanese or Korean minivans as well as Japanese Jeeps. Prices on this tour are based on usage of Japanese or Korean minivans (max 4 passengers for one car with air conditioned), to ensure your highest comfort. During the Discover Central Mongolia tour, we will be driving approx 100 - 300 kms daily.
