Khushuu Tsaidam Memoral Complex is a Turkic inscribed monument of Turkic Empire. The inscription was written by the grandson of Kultegin and devoted to the Bilge Khan of Turkic Empire and his brother Kultegin in 732. Bilge Khan's stele, well khown Orkhon Inscription is 3,3 m high, 1,3 m wide and has 68 rows of inscription. Bilge Khan, who was the latest King of Turkic Empire, ruled its country for 19 years. These memorials were recognized as a "Cultural landscape" of the UNESCO World Heritage in 1996, although they had been destroyed much throughout its history of over thousand years. Continue travel to Karakorum, the ruins of the former capital city of Great Mongol Empire in the 13th century. The establishment was founded by Chinggis Khan in 1220 and completed by his successors. In 1380, soldiers of the Min dynasty destroyed the city. In 1586, the building of Mongolia's first and largest monastery started. It was built using material from the destroyed city. The monastery had 62 temples and housed over 1000 monks. Sadly, in the 1930's communist purge, some of the temples were destroyed. However, the monastery continues to rank as the largest of Mongolia. We will visit to Kharkhorin museum and Erdene Zuu Monastery Complex. Overnight in Ger camp.
